What is A Girl & A Gun?
A Girl & A Gun (AG & AG) is a club established by women for women. Our training program is hosted at hundreds of ranges nationwide and we have virtual and destination events, too! Whether you are a defender, competitor, or just want a casual, fun night out at the range with the girls, A Girl & A Gun is for YOU!
A Girl & A Gun events are fun, social gatherings where you get firearms training and encouragement, ask questions in a safe and nonjudgmental environment, improve your marksmanship, and make new friends. All AG & AG events are supervised by Certified Firearms Instructors. All Chapter Facilitators are women who can “speak girl” and provide techniques and tips for female shooters. Our goal is to empower, educate, and have fun at the range. AG & AG events have been successful steppingstones for thousands of women since 2011. Please know that we cannot give a formal training class in a casual environment at Girl’s Night Out and that is not our intent; if you are a new shooter, we strongly encourage that you seek a firearms instructor for an introductory class. AG & AG is honored to be a resource for you to help find the right instructor and/or classes.
Facilitator Bio
Hello ladies! My name is Silvia Aparicio and I am the Rockford, IL Chapter Facilitator. I’ve been a part of A Girl & A Gun since 2021, where my journey with firearms first started. Since becoming a member I have absolutely fallen in love with the world of shooting, the community of like-minded women, and the overall confidence and strength firearms have given me. In 2024, I attended both the annual National AGAG Conference and the AGAG Fall Fest 3-Gun University and Multi-Gun Competition, where I placed 3rd overall in my division.
My credentials also include being a Certified USCCA Firearms Instructor for the state of Illinois, offering the Illinois Concealed Carry and renewal courses, as well as mini clinics focused on gun cleaning, dry-fire training, holster work, and more.
